ZNFPC is a parastatal under the Ministry of Health and Child Care established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, mandated to coordinate the provision of Family Planning services in Zimbabwe. Its operations include the procurement and distribution of contraceptives, Sexual Reproductive Health service provision, trainings and research.
Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) will from the week starting 11 -15 April 2016 hold awareness workshops in all provinces across Zimbabwe as it prepares to officially distribute Marvelon 28 birth control pill in all health facilities across the country.
During the International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Southern Africa (ICASA) held at Rainbow Towers in Harare from the 29th of November to the 4th of December 2015, the Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council presented results of a study it conducted in the two selected provinces: Mashonaland Central and Matebeleland South. Presented by Mr. Farai Machinga from ZNFPC’s Evaluation and Research Unit, the study sought to understand the determinants of unmet family planning needs among HIV positive women.
