Lets celebrate Day of the African Child
The Board, Management and Staff of Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) join His Excellence the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde E.D Mnangagwa and the entire nation in celebrating Day of the African Child. We congratulate Government for establishment of the Junior Parliament in response to the commemoration of Day of the African Child. Indeed, it teaches children the essence of democracy, leadership, community values and citizenry. This year’s theme is ‘Eliminating Harmful Practices Affecting Children: Progress on Policy and Practice’.
As ZNFPC we established and support 24 Youth Centres across all provinces in Zimbabwe through the Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health programme. The programme is implemented in urban and rural communities to support young people with age appropriate information and clinical services to make informed choices regards their reproductive health. Eliminating harmful practices such as teenage pregnancy and child marriages enables adolescent girls the prospect to explore educational opportunities.
ZNFPC contributes to empowerment of adolescents and youths through offering quality youth-friendly sexual reproductive health services for free to all young people (10 – 24 years) in Zimbabwe.
