World Population Day celebration
Zimbabwe Joins the rest of the world in commemorating World Population Day on the 11th July 2019.
World Population Day (WPD) is an annual event, observed on 11 July every year, which seeks to raise awareness of global population issues. In the wake of the interest generated by the Day of five Billion, marked on 11 July 1987, approximately the date on which the world’s population reached five billion people, the then-United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Governing Council and, later, the United Nations General Assembly recommended that 11 July be observed annually as World Population Day. Each year since 1990, UN offices, host governments and communities have observed World Population Day on this date.
Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) will be celebrating the WPD through a Golf Tournament to be held on Friday 12th July 2019 at Royal Harare Golf Club.
Comes lets enjoy the day through playing golf!!!
