The Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council joins the rest of the world in commemorating Day of the African Child under the theme, ‘Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa.’ As we commemorate this day, let us be reminded that access to safe and inclusive water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services help prevent diseases, support menstrual health and hygiene, improve school attendance and protect children from violence and exploitation.
ZNFPC calls for strengthened partnerships, increased investment and inclusive policies that ensure, ‘No child and No place’ is left behind, especially boys and girls, children with disabilities and children in vulnerable and marginalized communities.
