The Zimbabwe National Family Planning Council (ZNFPC) joins the nation and the global community in commemorating the International Day of the Midwife under the theme “One Million More Midwives,” which calls for increased investment in midwifery to strengthen quality care and improve health outcomes for women and new-borns. We recognize and honour midwives for their essential role in providing sexual, reproductive, maternal and new-born health services in Zimbabwe. They ensure safe pregnancies, safe deliveries, and improved access to reproductive health services across communities. ZNFPC continues to advocate for strengthened midwifery services as a key pillar of reproductive health care in line with this global call.
