The team discussed wide ranging issues from Sustainable Financing for Family Planning, highlighting that Zimbabwe is increasing its domestic resource mobilization initiatives. The ZNFPC Chief Executive Officer expressed gratitude for the partnership between the Government of Zimbabwe and UNFPA. “Launch of the Zimbabwe Contraceptive Cost Recovery Framework with support from UNFPA is a clear government collaborative partnership to promote sustainability of the Family Planning programme.” said Mr Machinga.
Engagements on youth-friendly health services outlined that youth are at the centre of Zimbabwe’s Family Planning agenda, to ensure that they have choices to build the families they want. Zimbabwe is making efforts towards advancing solutions-focused gender equality and the human right to health.
