ZNFPC is a parastatal under the Ministry of Health and Child Care established by an Act of Parliament in 1985, mandated to coordinate the provision of Family Planning services in Zimbabwe. Its operations include the procurement and distribution of contraceptives, Sexual Reproductive Health service provision, trainings and research.
Over 4000 cases of child abuse are reported yearly to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, these terrific statistics prompted a demo and launch of campaign against sexual abuse and rape of children on the 1st of November 2013. Over 400 children marched from Harare town house passing through Samora Machel Avenue and proceeded to Africa Unity Square under police escort, remonstrating against child rape and sexual abuse. The children waved placards reading, “Stop raping babies”, “Stop child abuse” and “No bail for Child rapists” among many other campaign messages they had.
